Keeping your line close to the bottom is important to prevent spooking weary fish. Add to this the fact that most modern braided lines float and cause problems when fishing at extreme distances. The Docks back lead clips can be used to peg the line to the bottom, simply clip a weight on and slide the tail rubber sleeve over the clip. The sliding clip can then be inserted over the line as the lines are taken out by bait boat/canoe.
